SBC Phone Proxy Mode provides the capability of SIP based IP phones and softphones on Public or external networks to registers register with or through the Orchestrator to a customer PBX on a private or internal network.
Conceptually SBC Mode External Phone Proxies is akin to a Termination Customer Trunk Group where the only signaling authentication method is SIP based registration and the communication protocol is limited to a single selection either UDP, TCP, or TLS. To support multiple protocols simple create a SBC Mode connection simply create an External Phone Proxy for each protocol that is to be used.
Internal Phone Proxies are used to send REFER and Notify messages from the User Agent Server (UAS) to the User Agent Client (UAC). To support multiple protocols simply create an Internal Phone Proxy for each protocol that is to be used.
The Switch Orchestrator zone and IP address used for SBC Mode External Phone Proxies will be a Public (often Default) zone with a public internet routable IP address that is dedicated for SBC Phone Proxy Mode operation. It cannot This IP address should not be used or assigned for other purposes.
The Orchestrator zone and IP address used for the Internal Phone Proxies will be the same zone customer that contains the Origination Customer and Termination Customer Trunk Groups used to communicate with the customer PBX.
To disable a Phone Proxy, uncheck the icon in the STATUS column for the Phone Proxy that should be disabled.
