Trunk Type An Origination Customer Trunk Group supports three different methods to determine how to communicate with a customer’s network device.
IP Address This method simply uses the configured IP Address to route SIP Messages to the customer’s network device.
Fully Qualified Domain Name This method uses DNS Name resolution to resolve the FQDN to one or more IP Addresses. The resolved IP Address(es) are used to route SIP Messages to the customer’s network device.
Registration This method uses the SIP Digest Authentication method to register with the customer’s network device. Once successfully registered, the Address of Record (AoR) is used to route SIP Messages to the customer’s network device.
Port This represents the source port of the income SIP message. For UDP, this is typically port 5060. Since TCP and TLS use random ephemeral ports as their source port, set this field to 1 in this field when using the TCP and TLS protocol. The value 1 represents all source ports.
Protocol The Orchestrator supports UDP, TCP, and TLS v1.2 to communicate with the customer’s network devices.
Orchestrator Location Typically, this is the name of the city where the Orchestrator is deployed. This is a drop-down list of Orchestrator locations configured by 46 Labs.
Zones This is a drop-down list of available zones for the selected Orchestrator Location. See Zones for more information.
Orchestrator IP This is the SIP Signaling IP Address of the Orchestrator. This drop-down list contains a single IP Address based on the selection of the Orchestrator Location and the Zone.
Failover This field identifies the trunk's failover priority. The lower the number, the higher the priority. This column only displays when the Hunting method is configured as Failover.
Weight - This field identifies the trunk's relative weight. This column displays only when the Hunting method is configured as Weighted.
Reset This button clears (resets) the fields on the page.
Add Trunk This button adds the trunk to the Added Trunks table. If any required fields are empty, this button places a red border around the empty required field and displays the word Required beneath the field.
Added Trunks The number to the right of Added Trunks indicates the number of trunks in the Added Trunks table.
Trunk Status Click the Trunk Status to display a table of the trunk's status. XXX
Search Can be used to filter the list of trunks in the Added Trunks table based on a simple ascii text pattern match.
Hunting An Origination Customer Trunk Group supports three different methods for selecting a trunk.
Load Balance This method attempts to evenly distribute outbound calls to all active trunks based on XXX.
If the selected trunk does not respond, other active and available trunks are not considered.
If the selected trunk does not respond, other active and available trunks are not considered.
Failover This method always selects the active trunk with the lowest Failover priority number. If this trunk does not respond or returns a SIP error message defined in the Route Advance Logic section, the active trunk with the next lowest Failover priority number is selected. The process proceeds until all active trunks have been selected. The image at the top of this page shows a Failover configuration.
Weighted This method attempts to distribute outbound calls to all active trunks based on their relative weight. For example, if you have three active trunks (1, 2, and 3) configured with weights 25, 25, and 50, respectively, Trunks 1 and 2 will each receive 25% of the outbound calls, and Trunk 3 will receive 50% of all outbound calls.
IP / FQDN OR USERNAME Displays the IP Address, FQDN, or Registration username of the trunk.
BOUND IP This feature only applies to Termination Customer and Origination Vendor Trunk Groups.
PORT Displays the configured source port of the incoming SIP message.
PROTOCOL Displays the configured protocol.
FAILOVER Displays the failover priority when the Hunting method is configured as Failover. The lower the priority, the higher the preference for selections. This column displays only when the Hunting method is configured as Failover.
WEIGHT Displays the relative weight (number) of the trunks as compared to the sum of all weights. This column displays only when the Hunting method is configured as Weighted.
ORCHESTRATOR IP Displays the SIP Signaling IP Address of the Orchestrator for the trunk.
LOCATION Displays the Orchestrator for that trunk.
ZONES Display the trunk’s Orchestrator zone.
LAST MODIFIER Displays the username of the last person that modified the Trunk configuration.
STATUS When a check displays, the trunk is enabled. When an X displays, the trunk is disabled. To disable the trunk, a Disable Status confirmation dialog box displays. The Disable button must be selected to disable the Trunk.
Rows per page By default, the first 10 trunks are displayed in the Added Trunks table. Click the down arrow button to display 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 trunks at one time. To view more trunks, use the left and right arrow buttons to navigate to other pages.
