Redundancy

Redundancy

For most customers, the ability to place and receive voice calls to the PSTN is a business critical function that requires the service to be available 99.9% to 99.999% of the time. To increase the Peeredge SBC’s availability beyond 99.9%, single points of failure in the customer network should be eliminated. In Vendor based SIP Trunking deployments, 46 Labs recommends redundant SBCs/PBXs, and redundant network connections (i.e. multiple MPLS or Internet circuits).

Recommendation

46 Labs recommends at least two (2) customer SBCs/PBXs be connected to two (2) geographically separated Peeredge SBCs.
