How To Configure Origin Based Rating/Routing
To configure origin based rating/routing you will need to create routing rules for each country of origin and duplicate Vendor Trunk Groups/Ratedecks that those rules can route to when met.
Ensuring your origin priced rules are before your internationally priced routing rule in the Rule Order is key.
This will instruct the plaform to choose the origin set of vendors and their respective ratedecks when the call’s FROM and TO numbers are within the same country, destination or prefix.
If the call’s FROM and TO are not from the same origin, the order of your rules as stated earlier will allow the traffic to be treated as the usual international and refer to the international set of Vendors and their respective ratedecks.
The following is example rule set:
Note:
UI will require different names for each trunk group and ratedeck when creating duplicates. Using the name to make it clear what each item is to be used for can be beneficial going forward.
Routeplans can be cloned by selecting from the drop down when creating a new routeplan. This can be very helpful when there are many rules.
Prefix lists and destinations can also be chosen in the FROM and TO drop down menus instead of specific countries to further conform the prices for specifc types of calls.
