46 Labs’ Software Defined Networking (SDN)

46 Labs’ Software Defined Networking (SDN)

In addition to the Peeredge SBC, 46 Labs offers a fully managed SD-WAN service known as Software Defined Networking (SDN).

Pros

  • A very cost-effective, secure, and fully managed network topology.

  • Can be deployed on the 46Labs SD-WAN edge devices.

  • Can be deployed at all customer data centers, headquarters, and remote offices to provide a complete voice and data WAN Solution. This approach can optimize the routing of RTP/SRTP media between the customer’s endpoints (i.e. IP Phones) and the Peeredge SBC.

  • Can be integrated with an existing customer’s private WAN solution (i.e. MPLS or third-party SD-WAN). The customer’s private WAN optimizes the routing of RTP/SRTP media between the customer’s endpoints (i.e. IP Phones) and the 46 Labs’ SD-WAN Edge device.

Cons

  • Typically not a practical solution for deploying to remote teleworkers.

  • Other network topologies may be better if there is already a fully established private WAN solution.
