Remote-Party-ID (RPID)

Remote-Party-ID (RPID)

The Remote-Party-ID (RPID) header refers to the Remote-Party-ID header. The RPID header is used to convey information about the identity of the remote party in a SIP session. It allows the called party or intermediary SIP entities to know the identity of the party on the other end of the communication.

The RPID header provides information such as the display name and contact information of the remote party. It can be helpful in scenarios where the receiving party needs to display or process the identity of the caller.

Here's an example of how the RPID header may appear in a SIP message:

Remote-Party-ID: "John Doe" sip:17035554567@example.com;party=calling;privacy=off;screen=yes

When present in the SIP Invite and the PAI header is not present, the user portion of the URI in the RPID header is used as the ANI.
